🇺🇸📢USA Shipments Update: Tariff Update Based on Supreme Court Ruling
Following the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that invalidated the previous reciprocal tariff framework, the U.S. administration has implemented a temporary 10% global tariff under Section 122 of the Trade Act. This new rate took effect on February 24, 2026.
However, official announcements have confirmed that the administration intends to raise this temporary rate to 15% as soon as possible, which is the maximum allowed under this authority. While the 15% rate has not yet been formally activated, it has been publicly stated that this increase is expected shortly.
What This Means for Sendico Customers
Due to the continued uncertainty and the official confirmation that the tariff will be raised to 15% in the near future, we will continue applying a tariff hold fee of 16%+ for U.S.-bound shipments at this time.

This approach allows us to:
- Avoid under-collecting in the event the rate increases while parcels are in transit
- Prevent unexpected balance charges after shipment
- Keep customs clearance smooth and uninterrupted
Refunds for Any Difference
As always, any unused funds will be returned to you.
If your parcel arrives during a window where U.S. Customs applies only the current 10% tariff, the difference will be refunded from our side, just as we have done previously.
For example:
If 16% was held and only 10% is charged at import, the 6% difference will be refunded to your account.
Refunds for Tariffs Paid Under the Previous Ruling
If your shipment was imported into the United States while the now-invalid IEEPA-based tariffs were being collected, you may be eligible to seek a refund directly from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Refunds are not automatic and must be requested by the importer (the buyer). In most cases, this requires filing a Post Summary Correction (PSC) or a formal protest through the CBP ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) portal within the applicable deadline (generally 180 days from liquidation).
We strongly recommend contacting your customs broker or a licensed U.S. customs attorney for guidance, as eligibility and procedures may vary depending on your entry type and timing. Please understand that Sendico is not able to file refund claims on your behalf, as we are not classified as the "importer" of your goods.
We Are Monitoring the Situation Closely
U.S. trade policy remains fluid, and further changes may occur in the coming weeks. We will continue monitoring official announcements and will update you immediately if the 15% rate is formally enacted or if additional changes are introduced.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate these rapidly evolving regulations.
If you have any questions about a specific shipment, please contact our support team.
Kind Regards,
The Sendico Team
